What you'll accomplish

By the end of this guide, you'll have a reliable workflow for using Claude to draft full sections of your speech-language evaluation reports from your test scores and clinical notes — cutting report writing time from 4-16 hours down to 1-3 hours. The AI drafts the clinical prose; you provide the data and clinical judgment.

What you'll need

  • A Claude account (claude.ai — free tier works, Pro recommended for longer reports)
  • Your completed test scoring forms and session notes from the evaluation
  • Time needed: 10 minutes to set up your prompt template; 1-3 hours per report thereafter
  • Cost: Free plan (limited messages); Pro plan $20/month (recommended for full-length reports)

How-To Guide: Use Claude Pro to Draft Evaluation Reports

Step 1: Create your account

Go to claude.ai and click Sign up. Enter your email and set a password. Confirm your email address. You're now on the free plan, which handles most documentation tasks.

What you should see: The Claude conversation interface — a large text box at the bottom and your conversation history on the left. Troubleshooting: If you hit message limits on the free plan during a long report session, wait an hour or upgrade to Pro.
